Austin Parks for Picnicking and BBQ near Monterone Steiner Ranch

With summer coming, residents of family-friendly apartments in Austin will want to get outside and enjoy the warm weather and sunshine. There are a number of parks located in and around the metropolitan area that offer a variety of activities, including picnicking and barbecuing. Don’t sit around inside all season poking at frozen dinners. Get out and explore some of these parks, and take a picnic meal with you!

Picnicking and grilling in Austin parks

The Bob Wentz Park at Windy Point is located less than three miles from Monterone Steiner Ranch. They have barbecue grills as well as picnic tables for small groups, and a pavilion that can be rented out for larger groups. There are also restrooms and sand volleyball courts, and pets are allowed as long as they are on a leash. The Bob Wentz Park is open from sunrise to dusk, and there is a $10 per vehicle day use fee.

The Fritz Hughes park is a small, neighborhood park located just two miles from Monterone Steiner Ranch, as well as below the Mansfield Dam on Lake Austin. You can find barbecue grills and picnic tables here, as well as a playground, restrooms, and areas along the shoreline to go fishing.

Austin Pachanga Fest 2012 near Monterone Steiner Ranch

Austin is famous for their celebrations and events. Happening year round, Austin is one of the premier cities to visit and live. Lucky for residents at Monterone Steiner Ranch, there is plenty happening just outside your doorstep. The celebrated Austin Pachanga Festival is returning again for Latin themed cultural arts.

This year’s line up of events, artisans and music is bound to be a joyous one. The Pachanga Festival is proud to announce the line up for this year’s event, featuring Grammy winner, Calle 13. They will be performing the inaugural Friday night performance in Austin.

In addition to the live music, residents and visitors to the festival will get the chance to experience cultural artisans and purchase some of the homemade crafts; taste the cultural diversity at the food festival with Latin inspired dishes; and, enjoy other featured exhibits and shows throughout the weekend.

Central Market of Austin French Wine Tasting

Residents living in Austin are aware of the various and endless events taking place. Austin, of course, is famous for their slew of dining events throughout the city, and with so many restaurants and venues celebrating during the season, it’s difficult to pass up. The Central Market of Austin – North Lamar is holding their Wine 101 – France Wine and Dinner tasting.

On May 17th, come out and experience the flavorful wines hand picked by the experts and the CM Cooking School Staff. Learn to identify the characteristics of each wine as they explore world renowned wines from various regions throughout France. Visitors will get to experience the fragrant flavors of wines such as:

Chardonnay from Champagne
